Why I started One Clear Step

Moria Bennett

Founder and CEO

I started One Clear Step from personal experience of a difficult divorce. I know how it feels when life becomes a stream of messages, paperwork and decisions, while you are trying to find the strength to keep going.

Our mission

To help people find calm, clarity and the right support during a difficult chapter of life, one clear step at a time and without judgement.

Where this started

There were days when the pressure made it difficult to concentrate, work or see a way forward. I did not need to solve my whole future in one sitting. I needed space to breathe, someone to listen, and a manageable place to begin.

I began building One Clear Step around that need: a way to pause, organise what matters, and prepare for the right human support.

My hope is that, when you arrive here feeling overwhelmed, you feel less alone. You do not have to have every answer today. One clear step is a place to start.

What I believe

  • Clarity is a form of care. Being told the truth plainly is kinder than being managed.
  • Your private notes are yours. They should never be used to label anyone.
  • Good tools point you towards people, not away from them.
  • Nothing here replaces a solicitor, a therapist or an adviser. It gets you ready for them.

Where we are now

Early access — in development. The first version is for adults aged 18 and over in England and Wales who are separating or divorcing. We are speaking to people with lived experience and to professionals who see this every day, and we are building slowly and carefully because the subject deserves it.

Get involved

If you would like to help shape it, test it, refer to it or support it, we would like to hear from you. Professionals, organisations, charities and sponsors can send an enquiry here. Everyone else can join early access. You can also email info@oneclearstep.co.uk.
